A joint survey by Accenture and The UN Global Compact has shown that 86% of CEO's globally are calling for investors to better price sustainability into their capital marketvaluations.
Driven by the belief that only a few investment institutions are properly pricing the issue into valuations, CEO's feel that investors should be moving capital markets towards something of a sustainability 'tipping point' where companies are fully rewarded for their sustainability efforts.
Donald MacDonald, Chair of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) believes we can "expect the next decade to be an age of responsibility for capital markets". With the PRI (who's signatories account for $20 trillion of assets managed) calling for investors to listen to CEOs and better incorporate sustainability into their decision making, it is very concievable that Mr MacDonalds expectations become a reality.
With investors expected to increasingly price sustainability into their decisions-making processes, the motivation for incorporating sustainable strategy only grows stronger.
