Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX)

SEDEX is a membership organisation that provides businesses and their suppliers with the opportunity to store, share and report on the results of ethical audits via an online database, therefore reducing the need for multiple auditing.

SEDEX has three membership levels:

A category is for retailers and consumer brands that want to view supply chain information and audit results;

B category is for factories and suppliers that want to enter and share their audits with a number of customers;

AB membership is for agents and importers that need to both view and enter supply chain information.

SEDEX developed the SMETA audit methodology and reporting format based on ethical audit best practice.
