Indirect Energy Consumption / Indirect GHG Emissions

As an almost necessary part of an environmental management system or reporting practice, a business will have to monitor and record their indirect energy consumption and indirect GHG emissions.

Quite simply, any consumption or emission is 'indirect' if the actual burning of the fossil fuel, or consumption of the energy is off-site (i.e. at a power station for example). So, electricity consumption, for example, will usually result in indirect energy consumption and indirect GHG emissions.
