Governmental Legislation & Guidelines
Although legislation is changing all the time, there are certain pieces of legislation that are particularly relevant to Corporate Responsibility. At the Reassurance Network we will keep this section as up-to-date as possible with regards to forthcoming or recent legislation in the UK. We will also do this through our Recent News section, to ensure that you stay up-to-date on legislative changes.
The UK government have also published many series of guidelines in certain areas, and although not officially law, can very relevant to effective CR management.
These are a few that are most relevant to our work:
The Companies Act 2006
The Companies Act discusses a range of areas of corporate law, including certain aspects that are particularly relevant to Corporate Responsibility, such as the responsibilities of Directors and the legal reporting requirements.
The Climate Change Act
The Climate Change Act 2008 was the first piece of legislation that laid out long-term legally binding legislation to combat climate change.
The Combined Code on Corporate Governance
This code, created by the Financial Reporting Council, is a set of standards to guide companies on good corporate governance.
