Guide to Human Rights Impact Assessment

Put together as a joint initiative by the International Business Leaders Forum and the International Finance Corporation in collaboration with the UN Global Compact office, the guide is designed to help business understand and benefit from good Human Rights Practice. It acts to acknowledge that companies can contribute to the rights of individuals, but also actively attempts to help business. By pointing out the key issues with regards to Human Rights, it aids businesses in identifying risks from poor practice as well as opportunities from active engagement. Lastly, the guide helps business leaders and managers address specific challenges through appropriate management and monitoring of key aspects of Human Rights, relevant to their business.

The guide was initialluy published as a draft in 2007, and has been opened to public and expert consultation.
