Aside from the Corporate Responsibility initiatives that are designed for, or applicable to all industries, there are also a number of sector specific initiatives. These initiatives are often set up by industry bodies or coalitions and have specific aims within thier own industry. These initiatives generally target industry-wide improvement and often promote the sharing of best practice.
As well as internally driven initiatives, organisations such as the UN, have also been involved in initiatives that target higher levels of responsibility in specific sectors.
These are a few that are most relevant to our work:
The EICC is an electronics industry body that promotes an industry code of conduct for global supply chains in the electronics industry.
The Equator Principles are a set of standards that address environmental and social risk in project financing. The principles have been signed-up to by the vast majority of the world's leading financial institutions.
The ERGS are a set of standards designed to promote responsible gaming, ensure integrity, protect the interest of players and establish and promote best practice in the lotteries industry.
